Sajha Sawal is a weekly debate programme broadcast across Nepal on radio and TV. It is the most popular current affairs programme in Nepal with almost every one-in-three in Nepal being exposed to the programme. Broadcast at prime time on Sunday evenings, it aims to give all sections of Nepalese society, particularly marginalized and traditionally excluded groups, the chance to question their leaders – and each other. Each week, a panel of politicians and community leaders are asked questions by a studio audience which includes people, such as women and Dalits, whose voices are often missing from public discussion and debate.
The meeting of the Constituent Assembly (CA) is adjourned until 11 am on Monday. The meeting on Sunday began voting procedure on the proposed preamble and articles of the Bill of the new constitution and amendment proposals tabled on the Bill.
In the second-half of the meeting, which commenced at 7 pm, the full House approved articles 1, 2, 3 of the constitution Bill, making them a part of the new constitution.
The top parties decided to proceed with the CA process after the agitating Madhesh-based parties declined to sit for talks. Top parties on Friday had postponed the constitution drafting process until 11 am on Sunday to engage in dialogues with the agitating Madhesh-based parties and other disgruntled forces, but there was no headway in that direction.
